Title: MAINTAINER LEADER
The Housing Authority of the City of New Britain is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead our Operations Department as Maintainer Leader/Working Foreman. The individual must have at least three (8) years’ experience as a Maintainer and completion of a standard high school or technical school course; or an equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Previous experience in the building and related trades as a Foreman, Journeyman or contractor. Good knowledge of common hand tools used in building and equipment maintenance work; good knowledge of the carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating and electrical trades; skill in the use of tools; mechanic ability; ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with others; ability to plan and supervise the work of others, good physical condition, and ability to keep required records and inventory. Connecticut State Driver’s License required. An EEO/AAA.

Title: PROPERTY MANAGER
The Housing Authority of the City of New Britain is seeking a highly skilled, motivated professional individual to work closely with the Executive Director and Upper Managerial Staff as a Property Manager. The applicant is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Housing Developments. Interested individuals must have hands on experience with Uniform Physical Condition Standards within public housing (Inspections), unit lease-up, applicant waitlist, tenant account receivables (accounting skills), tenant legal process (Summary), knowledge of fair housing rules and regulations, lease provisions, resident meetings/program outreach, and have strong administrative skills for reporting and documentation. The position of Property Manager is required to be on call 24 hours per day, seven days per week for emergencies, with occasional weekend coverage for activities and attend all Board of Commissioners monthly Board Meetings. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but graduation from a standard high school, including supplemented by courses in business, One(1) to three (3) years administrative experience in business or public housing. Any equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered. Certification as a Public Housing Manager (within one year) required. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
