Public Housing Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What number am I on the waiting list?
A. We do not give out your placement number by phone \or in person. We will advise if you are still actively placed on the waiting list ONLY.

Q. Do you have emergency housing?
A. No but if you have an emergency dial 211 so they can better assist you.

Q. Is the wait list open?
A. Yes, the Public Housing list is always open.

Q. Where can I get an application?
A. You can pick one up at our office or call and have one mailed to you.

Q. How long does it take to get housed?
A. It can take from 6 months to 6 years.

Q. Can you tell me what’s missing in my files?
A. You would have to come in and speak with a worker.

Q. Can I change my address or phone?
A. No, You would need to come in in person and make the change in writing.

Q. Can I know the status of a friend or relative?
A. No.

Q. If I applied with someone else and we are no longer together can I remove them from the application?
A. No, the other applicant would have to come in to the office and put it in writing.
