MAINTAINER I

The Housing Authority of the City of New Britain is seeking a highly motivated individual to become a member of our team in our Operations Department as Maintainer I. The individual must have min. five (5) years’ experience as a Maintainer affording a knowledge of the various building trades, completion of standard high school or technical school or technical school courses preferred; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. The ability to communicate in English. Previous experience in the building and related trades as a foreman, journeyman, contractor or vehicles mechanic may also be considered (including landscaping).
Working knowledge of and experience with common hand tools used in building and equipment maintenance work; good knowledge of the carpentry, painting, plumbing, heating and electrical trades; skill in the use of tools; mechanic ability; ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with others; good physical condition. Connecticut State Driver’s License required. EEO/AA

HVAC Maintenance Mechanic/Maintainer

The Housing Authority of the City of New Britain is seeking a highly motivated individual to become a member of our Operations Department as HVAC Maintenance Mechanic/Maintainer at a hourly rate of $30.92/per hour. Individual must have High school diploma or GED, and completion of vocational technical school program in the trade, and fulfillment of recognized apprenticeship program required. Five years’ experience at the journeyman level of the trade required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered at the sole discretion of the Authority.
Working knowledge of requirements of HUD and the State of Connecticut in the maintenance of housing properties. Demonstrated thorough knowledge of national, state and local regarding HVAC. Performs skilled HVAC work in the maintenance, repair and renovation of Authority buildings, housing units and facilities, including HVAC. Performs general maintenance work and related work as required.

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
The Housing Authority of the City of New Britain is seeking a highly motivated individual to become a leader in our Finance Department as Director of Finance. The individual must have a Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance. MBA and/or CPA highly desirable; min. five (5) years’ of accounting and management experience in day to day financial operations, minimum one (1) year of which should be in a staff supervisory capacity; (3) years of direct HUD/Housing Authority Experience preferred; Financial management of development/redevelopment activities including in-depth experience with RAD and LIHTC desirable; Experience in financial reporting to HUD including submittals of the FDS and VMS reporting required; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
