Center of Excellence

Our Mission
 The mission of the New Britain Housing Authority’s Center of Excellence is to provide a safe and supportive environment for the delivery of programs to benefit low-income individuals within New Britain and the surrounding communities.

The Center of Excellence (COE) was funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the State of Connecticut. Constructed in 2014-2015, the building opened in 2015.

The purpose of the Center of Excellence is to provide a one-stop resource for residents of the Housing Authority, housing choice voucher holders and the neighboring community. 

The following services are foundational to the intent and purpose of the Center of Excellence:

• Resident Services
• Early childhood education
• Adult education
• job training

At the COE, we seek to offer comprehensive programs which result in improved educational opportunities as well as economic self-sufficiency for our residents. Through our own programs and valued partnerships which align with our mission, the New Britain Housing Authority seeks to help families overcome obstacles, identify support systems and improve their opportunities for self-sufficiency.
