Elderly & Disabled Services
The Resident Service Coordinator of Elderly Services assists residents of the NBHA’s six elderly/ADA properties. Our goal is to assist residents obtain information and services, enabling them to successfully age in place, while also serving as a bridge to the community to meet residents holistic needs.
It is the belief of the New Britain Housing Authority that our aging and disabled residents should be supported to age in place as long as safely possible. We assist residents by connecting them to supportive services, provide opportunities for social engagement and link to wellness, nutrition, public benefit, recreational, behavioral and volunteer engagement activities.
Evelyn Baez, the Resident Service Coordinator of Elderly Services, meets with residents upon admission and is available to help residents acclimate to their new setting, answer questions and assist with their transition. Evelyn also provides a variety of resident centered activities, including overseeing the Housing Authority’s two on-site food pantries.
