Resident Opportunities And Self Sufficiency

The Resident Opportunities & Self Sufficiency (ROSS) Program is the entry point to resident services. Staff work with new and existing residents to connect them to training opportunities and supportive services, based on their individual needs and circumstances. Support and guidance is offered to help residents realize their educational, health, financial and career goals.

Staff of the New Britain Housing Authority are actively engaged with the New Britain community, developing and maintaining critical partnerships.  Through these valued partnerships, we leverage a suite of complementary services resulting in opportunities for our residents to increase their self-sufficiency and improve life outcomes.

Programming focuses on:

  • Developing and expanding life-skills
  • Navigating the multiple stages of employment (job training, resume writing, career development, etc.)
  • Family support services
  • Health and wellness
  • Financial literacy, budgeting, credit repair
  • The general well-being of residents
